Chess Activity Centre

Press Conference on Monday March 22, 2010 at at 3.30pm at Goa Union of Journalist Conferance hall, 6^th floor, Shramashakti Bhavan, Patto Panaji.

Two of the major issues facing our society are Good Education and Unemployment.

For these reason we are trying to set up infrastructure for chess in Goa. While playing chess one has see thought various aspects, has to imagine, based on that he has to take action, and must have to take decision cannot go away from it. Chess is very good foundation for talent hunt at early age of a child

Stepping forward on this way Chess Activity Centre is organizing ‘Train-the-Trainers’ workshop in 6^th to 10^th April 2010 at The International Centre Goa, Dona Paula. This workshop will be foundation for unemployed youth/KG/Primary teachers/Secondary Teachers/Higher Secondary Teachers and also for house views.

Participants of this workshop will able to give preliminary knowledge of chess to KG/Praimary students. They will able to start their own chess activity unit and for this Chess Activity Centre will provide support, this will also help others elder students to practice and increase their chess skills.

All this individual units will be very useful to conduct monthly practice chess tournaments in their areas, and this will help children immensely . With the help of all, there could be Job opportunity for one in 100 to 150 students..

Chess Activity Centre will regularly conduct chess workshops and tournaments exclusively for participants these workshop to give boost to their chess skill .

To give summarized idea of the workshop Chess Activity Centre arranging seminar on Saturday, 3^rd April 2010 at The International Centre Goa, Dona Paula.between 2.30 to 6.30pm.

Chess lovers can join as Life Members of Chess Activity Centre by paying a fee of Rs.1000/- till 11^th April 2010. .Children below 18 years of age Normal Membership fee of Rs. 250/-

On 11^th April 2010 meeting has been called of Chess lovers and 3^rd monthly chess tournament for above 25 years organised at The International Centre Goa, Dona Paula.

Scholorship Scheme for Talented Chess Players will be announced in January 2011.

‘Chess for Everyone’ classes are held every Friday since25^th December 2009 4.00pm to 7.00pm. Any chess lover/player can take part in this. In April/May 2010 this class will for three day a week (Friday, Saturday & Sunday) at The International Centre Goa, Dona Paula. Chess Activity Centre is looking forward to start similar type of activity in other parts of Goa,

Every year Directorate of Sports organises Inter School Chess Tournament 453 High School in Goa. Chess Activity Centre has set a target for itself that at least 100 schools in 2010 should participate in this tournament. Our target for 2011 will be 250.

We want to start branches of Chess Activity Centre at Taluka and village level.

We also urge support from schools, social institutions, Clubs, Churchs-Temples, Sarvajanik Ganeshostav Mandals, Sarvajanik Navratrostav Mandals, Shimagostav Mandals, Carnival Mandals etc. to give helping hands in this regards..
